SUMMARY:Florida Harm Reduction Conference 2023
DESCRIPTION:Florida Harm Reduction Collective\, in partnership with the University of Miami\, is proud to bring you the 2nd annual Florida Harm Reduction Conference! Join 200+ Harm Reduction advocates\, medical and behavioral health providers\, researchers and students for 2 days of networking and learning. \nThe Florida Harm Reduction Collective is comprised of Recovery Community Organizations\, Overdose Prevention Programs\, Syringe Service Programs\, Community-Based Organizations\, and other stakeholders working to decrease the harms of drug use and eliminate the stigma associated with harm reduction. Harm Reduction is a set of strategies that help to reduce or eliminate the harms that are associated with substance use. This includes efforts ranging anywhere from building relationships with individuals who are unhoused and/or use drugs\, to pushing towards ending the War on Drugs. Harm reduction re-humanizes people by removing stigma\, creating the potential for bodily autonomy\, and supporting incremental positive changes and healthier decisions. \nThe 2nd Annual Harm Reduction Conference will be held in collaboration with the University of Miami’s Department of Public Health Sciences November 6-8\, 2023 at Novotel Miami Brickell. \nRegistration and the Call for Presentations is now open! \nWe encourage students and faculty who have valuable insights\, research findings\, or successful projects to share\, to submit a presentation proposal. Presentations should align with the conference theme of harm reduction and its related sub-topics (e.g.\, substance use\, public health\, harm reduction policies\, harm reduction in marginalized communities\, overdose prevention\, harm reduction and HIV/Hepatitis C prevention\, etc.). Submissions are due by September 13\, 2023 at 11:59pm EST. \nFor additional information\, please contact info@flhrc.org. \nRSVP \n
