DESCRIPTION:Narjust Florez\, MD\nCo-Director Young Lung Cancer Program\,\nMedical Director Cancer Care Access Program\,\nThoracic Medical Oncologist \nDr. Narjust Florez is a thoracic medical oncologist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute\, an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School\, the Associate Director of the Cancer Care Equity Program\, and an advocate for diversity in oncology\, becoming the first Latina as Associate Editor in oncology for Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion at JAMA Oncology.\n​\nDr. Florez specializes in lung cancer\, particularly early-stage lung cancer\, the development of new targeted therapies\, and the care of young individuals and women with lung cancer. She leads several groundbreaking studies\, including the EQUAL Study which aims to evaluate a new blood test for detecting EGFR-positive lung cancer\, particularly in Hispanic and East Asian communities. Her research ranges from early diagnostic interventions\, therapeutic clinical trials\, survivorship and cancer health disparities. \nA passionate mentor and researcher\, Dr. Florez founded the Florez Lab to support underrepresented medical trainees and improve care for vulnerable populations. She has authored over 145 publications and received numerous awards\, including the 2025 Health Innovators Award by the Boston Business Journal and selected as Boston Top Doctors in 2024 and 2025.
