DESCRIPTION:The Miami CTSI invites you to join its Team Science Lecture Series on Monday\, Monday\, December 1 at 4 p.m.\, as we present\, “Academic Entrepreneurship: From University Research to Real-World Impact\,” presented by Hassan A. Ali\, Ph.D.\, M.S.M. \nRegister in Advance\n\nThis interactive lecture will examine strategies for translating university research into real-world applications. It will highlight key challenges and opportunities in academic entrepreneurship\, with emphasis on decision-making factors relevant to collaboration\, funding\, and commercialization. \nHassan A. Ali\, Ph.D.\, M.S.M.\nDr. Ali is a tenured Associate Professor in Neurological Surgery and Medicine at the University of Miami. His academic background integrates life sciences and computational disciplines\, complemented by formal training in business\, management\, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Ali’s research focuses on translating university-based discoveries into real-world applications\, with experience in drug development for neurological disorders\, cancer\, and kidney disease. \nAt the University of Miami\, Dr. Ali serves as Director of the Drug Discovery Core at The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis and is affiliated with the Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing\, Katz Drug Discovery Center\, and Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is a Principal Investigator on federally and industry-sponsored projects and serves as a reviewer for NIH study sections in drug discovery and neurotherapeutics. His work includes multiple issued patents\, licensed inventions\, and experience founding and leading startups focused on biotechnology\, scientific consulting\, and therapeutic innovation.
