Fabiana Perna is a physician-scientist focused on the pathogenesis and treatment of hematological disorders. She is an Associate Member in the Department of Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy at Moffitt. Dr. Perna trained at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center under the mentorship of Drs. Stephen Nimer and Michel Sadelain. She is the inventor of multiple patents on adoptive cellular therapy and competed for a number of awards such as the ASH scholar award, TRTH, Leukemia Research Foundation and more recently, she is the PI of a NIH/NCI R37 MERIT award and a NIH/NCI R21 grant. The Perna lab seeks to understand how genetic or molecular abnormalities impact the cancer surface proteome enabling the identification of novel targets for promoting leukemogenesis and use of immunotherapy.
