Dr. Shah is an Assistant Professor and Internal Medicine-Pediatrics primary care physician at the University of Chicago. She focuses on the use of community-based participatory research and implementation science to address disparities in HIV prevention and access to care among marginalized populations. Dr. Shah has led multiple efforts to combine social marketing interventions and community partnerships to promote access to HIV care and prevention for Latina/x/o populations, with a focus on immigrant communities and sexual and gender minority groups.

The Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Visiting Scholar Program is a national NIH program that provides K12/KL2 scholars (Mentored Career Development Awardees) an opportunity to present their work. The program facilitates meetings between scholars, scientific experts engaged in clinical and translational science, and experts in the scholars’ research fields. The goal is to expand networks and foster exchange of ideas, highlighting the importance of clinical and translational science.
