DPHS Roundtables: Cervical Cancer and HPV Vaccination, from Policy Modeling to Community Implementation
Event Series
DPHS Roundtables
About This Event
Join us for a DPHS Roundtables discussion on policies and disparities in HPV vaccination and cervical cancer prevention. Cervical cancer is one of the few cancers we know how to eliminate. With HPV vaccination, regular screening, and timely treatment, the World Health Organization has set a global goal to make cervical cancer a disease of the past. But elimination will not reach everyone equally. Women living with HIV face greater HPV persistence and faster progression to cervical disease, and communities differ widely in access to care and trust in vaccination. Drawing on comparative modeling studies from South Africa, this roundtable brings together experts in global vaccine rollout, cervical cancer prevention, sociology, and community engagement to ask: What will it take to make elimination equitable, and how can evidence shape policy that leaves no one behind?
Lunch will be served before the event. Please arrive early to enjoy.
