Christiaan Leeuwenburgh, Ph.D.

This lecture will explore the molecular mechanisms of aging, highlight the translation of basic research into clinical interventions and promote interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of aging science.

Dr. Leeuwenburgh’s major research focus is understanding mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative damage and cell death with age. He has made significant progress in translating basic science research findings into trials aimed at improving human health span by targeting genes and molecular pathways with nutritional and pharmacological compounds.
